Mailbox post care

Treated post
The mailbox post is treated, meaning injected with chemicals to preserve it from rotting while keeping it's natural look.
* Screws are coated.

Painted posts are more protective:
Painted posts have sealer in the paint
* Sherwin Williams, water base paint.

Note:
* Still, it is wood! Heat can cause some cracks in the future, but it will not harm the post (it will not break it).
